End of the week report – Friday 10th August 2018


It’s Friday again! Time sure does go by fast huh? The Embily team hopes you all had a good weekday and you’re ready for the weekend. When we’re busy at work, it can be somewhat difficult to keep up with all the daily on-goings of the Crypto world. But not to worry, as we have some of the more interesting and/or important news for you here, in our End of the Week report.

The prices seem to be at a downtrend for the time being. Darn you Bitcoin and your typical movements! Don’t panic yet folks, we all know that Bitcoin likes to play with our feelings a little bit before shooting over the moon. No need to sell just yet, you can always average cost your holdings.


Monday 6th

Some of the larger crypto exchanges in Korea have had plans to expand into other countries markets, such as Bithumb having plans to establish an exchange in Thailand. Well, it has recently been enlightened that Korea’s biggest bank (Shinhan Bank) and internet firm (Nexon) are both lead investors in some of the bigger Korean Crypto exchanges.

Does this mean that banks are starting to accept that they must adapt alongside with Crypto?

Do you like a bit of drama? Well whether you do or do not, the crypto world is pretty much full of it. The latest drama to show up is to do with Bitcoin Cash and some of their “main” developers. Apparently, Amaury (who is considered by many to be one of the main brains behind Bitcoin Cash) has been kicked and banned from one of “main” Bitcoin Cash slack rooms.

Apparently, it was due to a disagreement on how loud he was with his opinions.

Tuesday 7th

If you’re an avid PC gamer, then I’m sure you’ve heard of No Man’s Sky. A game notorious for its launch that sent many players that bought the game wanting for a refund. However, recent news is that some players have hidden BTC wallet keys within the game. And if you find them, you can claim the $200 USD equivalent.

There has been a lot of news covering ETFs over the past couple of weeks, especially after the ETF made by the Winklevoss twins was denied. There have been many submissions that have been trying to push forward, but fortunately, there has been a recent announcement that there are a series of deadlines for Bitcoin ETFs in September. Meaning we will see 9 ETFs decisions in the next couple of months.

Wednesday 8th

The Swiss banks sure know how to make their clients happy. Maerki Baumann private bank is yet another private Swiss bank that has recently announced that they are open to start accepting clients that wish to deal with Cryptocurrency and digital assets. Yet another step forward for Crypto!

This is one of the reasons why we can’t have nice things. Trend Micro, a security software manufacturer has just reported that they found a Bitcoin ATM that’s ready-infested with malware to hijack BTC from unsuspecting users. And it’s all available for $25,000 USD. Tsk tsk tsk.

Thursday 9th

Recently, a U.S. Senate Candidate revealed his HODLs, also revealing to the world his very friendly and welcoming attitude towards Bitcoin. A lot of the American Crypto peeps were definitely rooting for him, but unfortunately, the U.S. Senate Candidate lost the Republican Primary.

Let’s end this report off with some more positive attitudes towards Crypto from Government officials. Andrea Romaoli Garcia, an international lawyer and Ambassador to the United Nations has recently shared her insights and opinions regarding blockchain as well as the cryptocurrency Relex.
