Interview with the CEO of Metal-CreditCard.com

Metal-CreditCard.com is the partner of Embily Payment Platform and we had the opportunity to record an interview with Vincent Torres the CEO. We asked about the history of the company’s foundation and its future, about bitcoin and blockchain. Find out more in this interview with the CEO of Metal-CreditCard.com


  • How did you get the idea to make metal cards?

Well, that’s a long story and I won’t bore you with all the long winded details as to how i came up with the idea for custom metal credit cards. So here is the short version.

Starting a business was never really my goal. I had a desire. A personal desire; like an itch. That I needed to scratch, but couldn’t. I was influenced by a person that told me that I would never be wealthy enough to earn myself a luxury metal credit card. They were referring to the American Express Centurion; aka black card. At that time, I was a bodyguard in Beverly Hills. The person who influenced me was very wealthy. Ultimately, that person instilled that desire in me. That itch. So I went from bank to bank looking for a solution. At that time, circa Mid-2013, few banks offered metal cards. Others didn’t even bother responding to my requests because they didn’t have anything to offer. And the worst was finally applying for a metal credit card and getting declined. By then I figured I’d give up. And it was at that moment that decided to take matters into my own hands. I was going to create a custom metal card for myself. Again, I wasn’t looking to start a business. I needed to scratch my itch. So I began researching how the payment card industry functions and mass produces cards. Which led me to contacting manufacturers, acquiring samples of metal cards, learning new software, developing a means of production and teaching myself to use specialized equipment. By the end of 2013, I had created my-own solution and as a byproduct invented the process of upgrading a basic plastic credit card into a custom metal credit card. So, it was my itch that gave me the idea to create metal cards; but it wasn’t until i found more people with the same itch that i decided to start a business.

  • There are tipping points in any business. What were yours?

That’s a great question and I can honestly say that as a global service we have yet to reach our major tipping point; that threshold just before things blow up! but I firmly believe that crypto currency will have a part to play when that day comes.

However, hindsight is 20/20, and looking back at our beginning. I do have a few moments worth mentioning.

12/2015 the passing of my father. Which led me to analyze my life, his accomplishments (or lack of) and finally make the decision to dive into my business 100%. Fear of the unknown plays a major part in why many entrepreneurs fail to start, let alone succeed. Personally, I told myself I will not stop until I succeed or die trying.

3/2016 earned media/blogs comparing our service to the big brand name metal card options. This sparked tons of interest and sales. Yet, humbled us to know that we’ve reached a level of trust in the market that only solidified our resolve to ensure a great service for all our clients.

  • What motivates you most at your business?

Our clients; once I realized that there were many people like myself with the simple desire of just wanting a cool metal credit card I couldn’t get enough joy and happiness out of helping people acquire what they’ve always wanted. And to this day, I am grateful for all the clients we’ve serviced around the world. I take pride in what I created and I ensure we provide the best final product possible to all our clients; big or small.

  • Where do you see your company in 5 years?

We plan to open additional production laboratories; US & Europe. The idea is to shorten the production timeline and provide faster delivery of their final product. No matter the size of the order; big or small.

  • How do you feel about Bitcoin and blockchain technology in general?

When people ask me the “Bitcoin” question I answer it in one word: inevitable.

The future is block chain technology and the future is now.

  • Embily Payment Platform can issue crypto cards which top-up by using bank transfer or cryptocurrency and can be used for online shopping, payments at stores and operations with ATMs, like ordinary bank cards. What do you think about Embily crypto cards?

I’m a firm believer in a system that allows the consumer to Choose how they want to conduct business transactions, organize their finances and interact with merchants. Embily crypto cards are the beginning of a new era in payment solution technologies. I believe the Embily payment platform is a tipping point in the crypto currency story waiting to happen.
